1. What is 1000 Indicators MT4?

This collection provides access to a wide range of technical indicators and variants for MetaTrader 4. Explore tools for trends, momentum, volatility, breakouts, and important price levels.

These files are analytical tools, not automated trading robots. The examples illustrate possible uses, not verified profitable strategies.

2. What types of indicators are available?

  • Trend: for example Supertrend, Moving Average and Heiken Ashi; tools for visualizing trends.
  • Channels & breakouts: for example Donchian Channels and ZigZag Breakout; potential breakout areas.
  • Support & resistance: for example Pivot Lines and Support and Resistance; potential reaction zones.
  • Oscillators: for example RSI, MACD and CCI; momentum-related measurements.
  • Volume & market structure: for example Market Profile and volume indicators; results depend on broker data.

Some files represent older releases or variants. Similar file names do not necessarily mean identical calculations.

3. Example charts: What indicators may look like

The following visuals illustrate drawing principles based on the reviewed indicator files. They are not screenshots from MetaTrader 4 and use synthetic price data.

4. Step-by-step installation

  1. Download: Obtain the files using the supplied download information and extract the archive to your computer.
  2. Select: Choose just a few indicators to start with.
  3. Data folder: In MT4, click File → Open Data Folder.
  4. Destination: Open MQL4/Indicators. You may create a dedicated subfolder for the collection.
  5. Copy: Move the selected .ex4 or .mq4 files into that folder.
  6. Compile MQ4 files: If you have source code only, open the .mq4 file in MetaEditor and use Compile. Successful compilation generates an executable .ex4 file.
  7. Refresh: Open Navigator (Ctrl+N), right-click and choose Refresh, or restart MT4.
  8. Attach: Drag the required indicator from Navigator onto a chart, review its settings, and confirm.

Important: A .mq4 file is source code that must compile successfully to run. A .ex4 file is already compiled; some older files may not be compatible with current MT4 builds.

5. Why not install all 1,000 files at once?

Putting many files in MQL4/Indicators does not mean all indicators are continuously running. However, a very large library can make navigation cumbersome and may affect startup or list loading.

Most computational load comes from indicators actively attached to charts. The number of historical bars, complexity of calculations, number of open charts, and indicator implementation all matter. There is no reliably established universal limit for the number of indicator files you can store in MT4.

  • Keep the full archive outside the MT4 data folder.
  • Begin with 5–20 selected files and organize them into clear folders.
  • Start with 1–3 active indicators per chart and monitor responsiveness.
  • Remove unused tools through Charts → Indicators List (Ctrl+I).
  • If MT4 slows down, first reduce the number of active indicators and open charts.

6. Security and compatibility

  • MT4, not MT5: .mq4 and .ex4 files are intended for MetaTrader 4.
  • Third-party code: test unfamiliar indicators in a demo or isolated terminal first.
  • DLL imports: do not enable them by default; allow external libraries only after appropriate review.
  • Older indicators: some may require changes after platform updates or may fail compilation.
  • Dependencies: some indicators require additional includes or libraries.
  • Repainting: certain tools may revise historical signals; check behavior before live use.

7. Frequently asked questions

Is this an Expert Advisor?
No. These indicators are designed primarily for technical analysis and do not place trades automatically.

Must I install all the files?
No. A targeted selection is easier to manage and troubleshoot.

Why does my indicator not appear?
Check MQL4/Indicators, refresh Navigator, and verify that any .mq4 code compiles without errors.

Why is nothing shown on the chart?
Check input settings, timeframe, market data availability, Experts/Journal messages and possible dependencies.

Are there 1,000 unique strategies?
No. The collection includes indicators, releases, and variants.

Is there a fixed maximum number?
No universal number applies to every setup. Actual performance depends on files, charts, and hardware.

8. Service scope and third-party licenses

The service covers the collection, technical provision or download links, and compilation assistance for indicators that are freely available online. It does not grant exclusive rights to third-party software.

The individual indicators remain subject to their authors’ respective license and usage terms. Availability and compatibility of older files may vary. Check the relevant license before redistributing or commercially using third-party software.
